: is my tranny slipping
kb66062 09-17-2004, 08:38 PM Not sure if its slipping or I've just gotten used to the power. I have juice w/ attitude and I always run at level 4 and a few times at 5 and fule setting at 5. The truck doesn't seem to pull as hard as it used to and when it shifts from 3-4 I think the tach just stays at the redline and you can't even feel it shift. Sometimes it shifts funny too. I haven't had any lights come on in the dash yet though.
Has anyone got the dealership to warranty the tranny if you pull off the juice?
Mike L. 09-17-2004, 11:35 PM And we all wonder what has gone wrong in this world. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/HiHi.gif kb, do you have any sense of fairness? Bet if someone did that to you , you would sue their pants off for being decietfull, teach them a lesson. But, this is different , right? http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Ermm.gif http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Rock On.gif

Mackin 09-17-2004, 11:47 PM First off most likely the removal of the extra torque (Juice box) and a some adaptive relearns will have your tranny shifting stock with in spec.Have the dealer reset your Tap cells, thats all they'll do first and should.
You may have done damage or it just could be lazy shifts. Have you ever defaulted to third gear no reverse ,in other words limped the transmission?
Warranty shouldn't be in option .

kb66062 09-18-2004, 12:18 PM how do you know if you have limped the transmission.
Mike, yes I do have sense in fairness, but do you consider $46,000 (sticker) for a vehicle fair? I think that they can afford to do a little warranty work from time to time. In my eyes I have already paid them to rebuild the tranny a few times.
Mackin 09-18-2004, 02:39 PM In limp mode you will have a Message Indicator lamp lit,and will be stuck in one gear with no reverse.

kb66062 09-18-2004, 06:09 PM ok thanks for the info, I haven't had that happen yet so I am assuming the tranny is probably ok for now.

The problem is that if you sold that truck for 46K and looked at your profit margin, you would not think that some idiot with a box had a leg to stand on. Fess up; I buy your truck for 46K and you will build the trans free everytime I abuse it. Right. Look at both sides, take responsability and try not to be a weasel. Good luck with your warranty.

NWDmax 09-18-2004, 09:02 PM Just because someone made a profit on you doesn't give you the right to lie and steal from them.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Disapprove.gif
If its a legit warranty issue unrelated to the "juice" then fine but if your gonna play be ready to pay.

Why have the dealer put stock parts in....it won't hold anyway........
Just GIT-R-DONE.............
Call Clint at ATS or Joe at Suncoast or Steve at TTS..........

Now I know why I paid that much for my truck...
GM will make us pay on the front side or the back side... unfortunatly, they get it up front for these circumstanceshttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Ermm.gif
hd90rider 09-23-2004, 10:38 PM Strange I have 358k on my tranny with no mods. Guess it might have been built alright as I tow 70% of those miles.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Clap.gif
corona 09-24-2004, 09:56 AM You play you pay...
Tempting as it is, I don't run my Juice/Attitude above level 2 - cause I don't have the $$$$ right now for the tranny upgrades it would require.
Rotax 10-16-2004, 02:46 AM LOL. You guys are lame who say that Chevy should not warranty our trannys. If you abuse it and it is covered then they should warranty it. I dont care if you red line it then slam it into gear from a stop every day. WTF these trucks are more than people make in a year. Get a grip guys. I have a Duramax and a 745 BMW. I don't care wtf I do to the BMW they warranty everthing. That is how all cars and trucks should be. If you use juice and the truck makes more power so what. Than GM should also sell that truck the same way. Bottom line is build a better Tranny, Drive train and truck for $45,000. I am tired of giving in to huge corp. that make billions. Warranty my sh*t ( if it is in the warranty period ) even if my kid sh*ts down the oil filler it just does not matter.
Hay NDBmax you must be voting for Kerry wtf. People need to demand more for our money. If all we do is add fuel and air to a truck and it cant handle it that is pretty lame. It is a joke they add power every year. A little at a time. Just to up the previous year. Quit being lame and give us it all and build the trans around the motor you no you built GM.
Juice level 5 and fuel level 5 everyday. Eat sh*t GM if it blows up. I have rights also.
Eat me.
Blinky 10-16-2004, 09:33 AM Rotax,
Well alrighty then...........................http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley24.gif
How you can take no responsibility for your actions is totally beyond me.....http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley5.gif
Good luck with your warrantyhttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley2.gif
ratlover 10-16-2004, 12:32 PM And we wonder why insurance costs, vehicular costs, health care and......never mind.......
Not wanting to take responsibility for ones own actions ussually seems more like a democratic rallying cry. And for the record saying someone is a kerry supporter is just way below the belt. Tell him his moma is ugly and she dressed him funny, trash on the mans ethnic origin, his religion, his wife, anything but call him a kerry supporter, thats just low manhttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley18.gif
Bottom line especially with big tires level 5 is probably going to piss off your trans especailly long term. 90hp added is safe on a good to start with alli much over that is iffy. Try to see if you can find someone local to reset the taps(either one of the members here, a budy, or a mechanic), check your fluid and see what it looks like and have you replaced the spin filter lately? And start saving some cash for a rebuild, you want more power than a weeny juice anywayshttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley2.gif
LB7 or LLY???
Mackin 10-16-2004, 04:26 PM Rotax
You have got to be yanking our chain you can't be serious. How or why is it fair for GM to warranty a transmission when it was taken outside the safe limits it was designed and spec'd for?
The Allison at the flywheel is designed to hold 300+ HP and 550+ TQ not at any other additional power.GM warranties the Allison JUST to do that.
Hypothetically if you smoke the Steeltex hides should Firestone keep supplying you with tires?
Just because you sneak a warranty repair in doesn't make it right.
Mac
McRat 10-16-2004, 04:53 PM ... I don't care wtf I do to the BMW they warranty everthing...
One, BMW made some M3 owners pay for new motors, blaming them for over-reving it, before BMW confessed that the main bearings were to blame and issuing a recall.
Two, increase your HP by 50% and see if BMW will warranty it. Put a supercharger on it, or a big shot of Nitrous, then when it blows, tell them the truth and see what's up. You'll find they are no different than any other make.
NWDmax 10-17-2004, 12:14 AM Well I see you all took the bait. I don't think the lure even hit the water!
The sad part of it is there are people who really feel this way....http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley13.gif
Oh and to set the record straight, Kerry sucks......
