Installed air bags on the truck to level it out when pulling 5er, as a result trailer sat nose high by a few inches. I installed 2 inch thick blocks between axles and springs along with longer U bolts. Can`t believe how much better it tows,my wife even noticed it.

I had air bags on my old truck and they made a night and day difference in how my fiver pulled. Good Investment for sure..

The ones I used were AIR LIFT brand.

Helped a buddy put in his Firestone bags on Friday. I've got Airlift ones.
He got some single gauge compressor. . . didn't have all the parts he needed. Got it from the same place he got his lift. . . you would think they would have sold him a descent unit but no. . . cheapy.

Please don't hurt me for asking this question, but why not just add a leaf or two to the spring pack?

No pain involved.
With the air bags you can adjust them for different weights that are being carried, so that you do not have a stiff ride all of the time.
Plus springs can eventually sag again.

Good point - I didn't think about the "adjustability" of the air bags vs springs for ride quality.
