I'm no expert but if your talking about running the stock rims i say stay away from the 305 i've got 305/70r16 goodyears on mine no rubbing or anything but the tires are wearing fast in the middle due to being too wide for the stock 6.5 rim, but they do look good.

I'd say shy away from the 305's on stockies too. 285's do fine on the stock wheels tho.

Definetly go with the 285's. I've ran them since I got my truck in '04 and they do great.

I apologize for the goofed up pictures. They should come up if you click on the X. These are 305/55/20's on 20/10's with 4 3/4" backspacing. I had to do some trimming and the T-bars are cranked to the point that the truck sits almost level (i have a little room left, but like the stance). You can check my garage for more pics. I'll figure out how to put them in here right sooner or later

Hey, Im not sure how to post pictures but look in my garage. I have 285/70/17s on 17x9 Xtreme Alloys Rims.

If you do get bigger tires, you should probably get some wider rims, the tires dont roll over so much on turns and seem to wear better. You can use the stock rims if you want though, I did for a while but I definately like the look of my rims.

thank you, that just made the decision between 18s and 20s. did you have to trim the actual bumper or just the plastic airdam?

Wow, great truck JonyB. Very nicely done. Any lift, leveling kit, or crank?
Like everyone else said, go with a bigger rim if you want larger tires. If your towing, I personally wouldn't even do 285's (although many will tell you they've had sucess with this), but that's just me. Working on getting better pics but check my garage for 285's on H2's.

Thanks for the props on my truck fellas. It's just cranked with stock keys for now. I wanted to get the wheels/tires on before deciding what to do about lifting it further. Looks like I'll get the Cognito UCA's, new shocks, and a block for the rear.

The valance and bumper are trimmed, but that was done before I bought the truck. It does rub as it sits.

JonyB,
Please do let me know how it turns out for you once you do the Cognito Leveling kit. I just put it on myself and are running slightly smaller tires than you on the ideal H2 wheel with the high offset.
My buddy has the exact same wheels in 20's and tires you have on his HD chevy. He too is just cranked. I've been telling him to do the leveling kit, but I will feel bad if that's not enough clearance for him and instead he should just go for the Cognito 4-6. I'm assuming you're rubbing pretty good as is huh? I love the looks of those Toyo Muds man. What is the offset and b/s of the wheels?

jonyb
04-27-2007, 12:25 PM
offset on those wheels is -21mm. They do rub, but not too bad.
