 Took my 06 GMC 3500 CC in for leaking transmission line this week. Dealer located one line leaking however when I looked I found the other lower line leaking also! So back to dealer I go to tell him to order both lines. Had asked him to check all lines............so there you go. Not happy truck has 12,000 miles on it and I bought the most truck I could get because i was tired of trying to make a 1/2 ton be a real truck. I can see how this will play out.........new lines will be needing replcement soon since they will be no better than what they replaced and it will leak again. So another visit to dealer. With the amount of posts I have seen with the same problems sounds like a recall and updated lines are in order!

Common problem, doubt a recall will be issued as those are for saftey concerns, not annoying problems...I agree, they need to update the lines...replaced 2 sets today...what a p.i.a.!!!

It took 6 years to come up with a real fix for the steering shaft, I doubt they will ever 'fix' the trans lines unless the new trucks use the same thing. Cheaper to keep replacing them I guess..

My understanding it there really is no fix , not yet.

The new "fix" lasted two days in mine. They claimed the intermediate shaft was replaced. I know he did something, the steering wheel is off center.
Sorry about the hijack..
