Hey Everyone, New to the forum! This is my first diesel. To date I have just done regular oil changes and then figured the dealer could take care of major services like the 30,000 miler. Well this is where my problem begins. 2 weeks ago I took it in for the 30,000 service. Part of the service is the fuel filter change. After getting my truck back I noticed it idled rough but ran ok when I put my foot into it. The next morning the truck fired up then stalled and would not restart. I towed it to the dealer and they said the replacement filter had failed. After getting the truck back it idled a little better but still not as before the servicing. Well needless to say same thing happened for the second time. I towed it in again and gave dealership piece of my mind. This time they said the housing had a leak, a water leak. Well I never got the message on the DIC. Anyway dealership is replacing housing. After reading many forums on fuel filter problems, and injector problems I am extremely concerned. Should I have dealer do a more thorough inspection? I did not have any problems prior to servicing. Thanks Jonhttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Disapprove.gif

You need to request one of the moderators to move this to the "Ask the Techs" section, it might be awhile before any of them sees it here...http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Embarrased.gif

Got, my truck back from dealer. They said the housing was warped. They replaced the housing and all seems well. Still would like to know if I should run a dual filter system or trust the OEM.

Run a dual system. Your injectors will thank you for it.
