I just brought my new Vortec MAX 6.0 home yesterday (thanks for the help Howard) and drove to work for the first time today. While on the road, the temperature went slowly to 210 and stayed right there. That seems pretty high to me. I am used to somewhere around 192 degF. Is this correct?

My gas trucks always were right on the 210 marker when warmed up, seems normal to me.

Mine always runs at 210 or the mark below it. It's normal

I had this fear as well. But my dad had a 92 with a 350 and it ran just under 210. My 93 with the 454 runs just under 210 as well. Must be normal.

Thanks for the replies. I was afraid that with 200 miles on my truck, something had already gone wrong. It sounds like it's normal...

My '06 GMC 6.0 runs at 210, I was told the hotter temps have to do with the burning of emissions but don't quote me on that :)

Its normal, they run um hotter to keep emissions down. Its havoc for rubber compentents plastics etc etcc running hotter but the tree huggers win.
