ChevyHDGert 09-17-2004, 10:05 AM Since there are not too many '05 Chevy HD owners yet on this site with pics, I figured I'd post a few.

baimpala 09-17-2004, 10:31 AM Nice post. . . I think the front end isn't that bad. . . I do like the GMC better, though. Seems a lot of folks prefer the solid bar through the middle, but I like this a little better.
Dennis
gearhead 09-17-2004, 11:30 AM I love the front and the hood
Sollly 09-17-2004, 12:46 PM Are those gold lug nuts on the first two El-Mor photos?
JRZ2500HD 09-17-2004, 12:46 PM I love the hood, but I am one of those who like our grills better. By looking at it, I wonder if you could just trim our grill to make the hood fit. The one question i have is will the 03-04 bulkhead work or is there a new one. With the hood be raised all the way from front to back, it looks like a cowl hood.
BlueOx03 09-17-2004, 01:31 PM A guy should be able to get a grille and hood and bolt them on by the looks of it...may need to change the cover between the grille and radiator mount as well...I doubt they really changed much, change=$$$
I didn't find any hoods on a quick search.
But you can sort through this list for grilles
hoods on car-part (http://www.car-part.com/cgi-bin/search.cgi)
I bet if someone bought a scrached one and had the whole thing painted it would look really good...HDSS style...
Yes IIRC all the lug nuts on these trucks are gold..zinc IIRC...those trucks just don't have the center caps on...

GMC2500HD 09-17-2004, 01:36 PM Well they are getting better. Still take some more redesigns to get me out of my GMC...http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/HiHi.gif
maynard9089 09-17-2004, 04:00 PM My new Trailer Life magazine came yesterday and it had a pic of the 2006 GMC front end. BIG GRILL! I like it but Ill have to see the whole thing in real life first.
Roegs 09-17-2004, 04:03 PM Are those gold lug nuts on the first two El-Mor photos?
The center caps are not installed yet.

The center caps are not installed yet.
...little slow on the draw partner...http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif
Reineke 09-18-2004, 01:32 AM Thanks for posting. I can't wait until mine comes in now...http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif
Max Owner 09-18-2004, 12:51 PM Still like my 02 Chev, better.
ChevyHDGert 09-21-2004, 09:44 AM Anyone notice the hood at the wipers?
It sticks up from the wipers about 2" giving the look of a cowl hood. I think that is sweet.
I didn't notice this until I looked at one in person yesterday. They put a black plastic filler in so you can't see the engine from inside the cab.
So this makes me wonder even more if this hood will work for you '03-'04 HD guys.
Xsta Z 28 09-21-2004, 02:48 PM I like it. The hood has more of the "Power Bulge" back, I always had mixed feelings on Chevy's "chrome bar". This truck now looks like it is "really" frowning at you . . .
Pull behind a Ford and really say get teh f*&K out of my way!
Hired Gun 09-21-2004, 02:59 PM Now I am glad I went ahead and got the 04. I like them better than the 05 because of the flat beginning of the hood. But hey I like my Goodmark Hood better than stock anyway.
Plus we all have opinions so dont get testy 05 owners. I am sure I will come around like I always do.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/HiHi.gif
Duramax Dually 09-21-2004, 04:31 PM Not Bad....Better than the '03-04 flat one IMHO. I still stand that the '01-"02 HD hood is better looking. GMC looks good also.
Road Boss 09-21-2004, 11:12 PM Yeah, I really like the hood too. Now if they would work on the wheels and tires?
B-Rad502 09-23-2004, 12:37 AM Looks like I'll be taking the new one straight to the shop when I get it to buy a billet grille insert. That new front end REALLY needs it!!http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Approve.gif That is, if I go Chevy. I ordered 1 of each, no obligation, didn't sign anything. Just have to see who gets me the better deal, Chevy or GMC.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gifEdited by: B-Rad502
Micheal Tomac 09-24-2004, 02:38 AM I wonder how the piece between the headlight and turnsignal/DRL would look if it were chrome instead of painted body color. Anyone good with photoshop?

ChevyHDGert 09-24-2004, 10:01 AM The new Dark Blue Metallic on a Silverado.
They come with black flares :(

Max Owner 09-24-2004, 10:17 AM What are the contraptions just above the windshield, on the roof?
Flares don't look out of place, really. Dark blue would look good. Maybe just the model of truck?
ChevyHDGert 09-24-2004, 10:21 AM The one on the driver's side is for OnStar and the one on the passenger side is for XM Satellite radio or vice versa.
baimpala 09-24-2004, 10:40 AM I wonder how the piece between the headlight and turnsignal/DRL would look if it were chrome instead of painted body color. Anyone good with photoshop?
Or how about removed for air suction instead of pulling the headlight?
Dennis
Max Owner 09-24-2004, 12:43 PM Thanx Jason.
If it removable, Dennis may be on to something.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Approve.gif
