i have a 2006 GMC and there is this button, that i have no idea what it does. its on the right side ofthe dash, under the vent, next to the back up sensor button. but i dont have back up sensors either. Any one have any guesses on what its used for? my best guess was the roof lights, but i dont have them installed yet, just pre wired from factory.

Does it light up when you push it? I'm guessing its your rear window/heated mirror

Do you have a picture of it, or explain what the pic is on the button? What kind of HVAC do you have?

I bet it is the button that comes with the plow prep package.

that light is for your plow beacon you can wire it up to that button therefore you dont half to run a seperate switch, you can access the wireing throught the third brake light

Does it look like the cab of a cab over truck with a lil light mounted on top? If so its the plow prep button for a blinky light. There is a 30 amp(iirc) relay behind the seat and the wires end in a bundle in the headlinner. You can wire it for anything if you want.

i was going to buy a truck that the previous owner had glued a green button that had ejection on it and an arrow pointing to the passenger seat but it was only a fake button

or you can tap into the hot wire comming off the switch and run it to your own relay to use the factory switch to run after market lights...thats what i did

Run a bare hot wire into the passenger seat. Label the button "DO NOT PUSH."

If your truck did not have the plow prep package (and no switch) is the wiring still up in the headliner? Can it be added without a lot of work?

Thanks
