I HAVE DONE THAT, IT DID NOT DO ANYTHING. OH AND ANOTHER THING, WHEN I CHANGED OIL ON MY 01' THERE WAS NO MESS THE OIL CAME OUT IN A NORMAL STREAM, BUT ON MY 03' IT COMES OUT LIKE THERE IS SOMETHING IN THE OIL PAN,THE STREAM MAKES A FRIGGIN MESS. I PUT A MAGNET IN THE PAN BUT IT WAS PERFECTLY CLEAN. DID GM CHANGE SOMETHING IN THE OIL PAN?

I fold a piece of cardboard in a V shape to drain oil to pan.

Install a Fumoto valve and use a hose.

The oil pan nut has a slot in it to help drain down lower. It will start to leak as soon as you begin to unscrew it.
I have a Fumoto on mine since first oil change. I also drilled a hole that corresponds to the slot to allow lower drainage level...

I had the same problem and found a thread on this forum about not putting enough torque on them. I tried the recommended 62ft. lbs and badda bing. Hasn't been a problem since.
It seems like alot of force when you're under there with a torque wrench but it worked.

Napa makes a rubber coated metal washer that stops any leak.
cheap fix, do it rite and put sealant on threads, and proper torque, this don't work gasket bad.
