What would happen if i ran my truck with no air filter, considering their is no dust or anything getting into the motor, would i get more power or less?

Thanks

No more power, and no such thing as "no dust". Not at all worth it...T

Not a good idea. The stock air filter is fine, read the AIR FILTER STUDY COMPLETED thread and make you decision.

Produces nothing ,tried it.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Embarrased.gif

One thing is for sure there is a huge suction at the inlet. Hang on to your Toupee.

If your getting enough air for the wastegate to open, then it dosen't natter what you do to the suck side of the turbo. Your not going to get more max power. Dosen't matter who's intake you have etc. I have a K&N intake on mine, I consider it mostly a waste of money.

Ran a few runs at the track with a AFE intake vrs a stock swisscheesed box and a UNI filter. I made 3 runs with the AFE and saw no gain difference in the 1/4 or at any point in the run. I wouldnt consider my 3 runs a final testing becasue it is pretty unscientific the way I went about things and really shoulda made more runs. AFE wistles like a freaking banshee thoughhttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Cool.gif

Definite, repeatable gains on a flow bench with AFE over stock...

Definite, repeatable gains on a flow bench with AFE over stock...Be specific. At what air flows? Are you selling AFE now? What happened to AMSOIL, then UNI? And how in THE WORLD does the AFE accomplish flowing MORE AIR than NO FILTER AT ALL!?!? Now THIS I gotta see! SPICER

Good Point John, all we need now is a turbolader to take advantage of that!

Spicer,

JK never said that the AFE flowed better than no filter at all. Or did I miss something?

i sure did not see what you seen, i seen a quicker spollup with the afe(spin tires quicker) and did see a slight hp increase, due to the increase in air, but did make more noise, this difference in us too could be from differently modded motors, the more the mods the more the air, afe will shine better:ro)

Maybe quicker spool up if you mash it while driving around? I a few back to back runs and saw 0 difference in ET between a stock swisscheesed box with a acdelco filter and the pass headlight removed and an afe stage 2 intake with the regular better flowing non progaurd filter. This was with my hot juice. I will try some more testing when i get my TTS to the track too though.
