involved the last while in a 4l-80 swap into my cucv...got a factory tps for a 6.2 with the 4l-80.i need to know the function of the wires on the sensor...that is what color does what.there should be a reference signal wire, ground wire, and tps power wire.
sadly i don't have said tps in hand at the moment,it's at the shop...and i can't remember off-hand what the colors are on the sensor.info would be helpful,as i may need to adapt the plug on my aftermarket harness to the tps.

How are you going to use a 6.2 TPS to operate a 4L80E? It's a computer-controlled transmission and needs an on-board computer and a engine-speed signal unless you've got some sort of adapter-kit. A TH400/3L80 is easy, but a 4L80E? I'm not an expert on the changeover, but I've seen a few installed and they required some pretty expensive aftermarket controllers.
In regard to the 6.2 and the TPS or VRV it uses - depending if it came with a TH400 or a 700R4 - the switches control the emmission systems and/or the lock-up torque-converter. Shifting is mostly controlled by vacuum with the TH400(3L80) and a TV cable with the 700R4.

for three years,91' to 93',(i think) the 6.2's came with a 4l-80 and a non electronic pump.i'm using a tps sensor from that era.bolts right up in fact...took all of 5 minutes.
and yes,i'm using an aftermarket controller.and yes...they are on the pricey side.Do you have an idea what the functions of each wire are on said tps?I may have to adapt the wiring to the aftermarket harness,as the plugs probably don't match.
using the factory style tps saves a lot of figuring and adapting.if i can get it to work properly.:)

Black is ground (usually always is)
Gray is the 5V reference
Dark blu is the signal
all these then connect to PCM
Good luck

Thanks much...before i saw your post i stopped in at a local chev dealer on the way home.the shop manager himself actually spent 15 min' looking it up cause he couldn't remember of the top of his head.said the same thing...blue-signal,grey-5v,black-ground.
thanks again.and no,the plugs don't match...so i have to splice it in.now that i have the polarity and ground right it should work fine.
