I'm looking for a "plug and play" programmer, something that doesn't have to be plugged in under the hood and easy to restore factory settings with if a trip to the stealership is necessary.

I tow a heavy 5ver and would like to squeeze some additional HP/TQ out of my LLY without having to upgrade to 4" exhaust. I am using a uni-flow air filter purchased from JK. My wife drives this rig at times so I need something she can work with.

I like what I have read about the TTS tow tune, it appears to be a very subtle program. Supposedly they are coming out with a handheld unit late in the year. But is it the best for what my needs? I am totally in the dark when it comes to programmers. I would also like a scanner function so that I can clear codes as well. Is there such a thing as a programmer/scanner "all in one"? http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Ermm.gif

Appreciate any feeback. Thanks JJ http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif

Sounds like all you need is a Hypertech. This product is available NOW for the LLY. I'm sure Bullydog, Superchips, Diablosport, and others will be available soon, if not already-I haven't been visiting their websites as of lately.

I dont know much about the TTS Tow tune but I know that the Hypertech is great for towing (lower EGTs) but im not sure if it is out for the LLY yet. It can scan for and erase codes

The Quad Stealth tuner does all you ask for. It is capable of correcting the speedometer for whatever size tire you have, checks and clears codes, has 4 power settings (up to 110) and is quickly able to return to stock. All my customers have been very happy with this tuner and some even have it stacked.

I've heard good things about the BD Intimidator coming out for the LLY. Pretty good numbers for power increase so they say.

CPMac, I pm'd you re your price on the Quad Stealth. Are there vendors on DP that offer the Hypertech that I can contact for a price? Need to support the DP vendors. Noticed nobody recommended the TTS handheld programmer. Hmmm! JJ http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif

I don't think they have one for LLY yet.

Dmax Tim, it's supposed to be out in the near future. The TTS tow tune PCM changeout has been out, so I was wondering if the guys were saying the TTS program really didn't meet the criteria I layed out above. Kinda makes sense that nobody could know though. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Ermm.gif

I'll contact the TTS folks again and see where they are at on the handheld. Like I said, I know absolutely nothing about programmers, tuners, etc., so what I invest end has to be idiot proof and extremely user friendly.

I like what I have read about the Hypertech, i.e. more hp/tq with no increase in EGT's! Is that true? I'm so skeptical, mostly because I'm out of my comfort zone in this area.

Given that I'm only wanting to bump up the hp/tq for towing heavy, it is handheld, can return to stock easily, etc., I'm leaning towards that one right now.

Thanks for the input. JJ http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif
