Where is the best (most cost effective) place to buy a cross over pipe for my 95 6.5 diesel?

im pretty sure SS Diesel has the cheapest ones. Not sure, the main 3 sites to check (I would say) are SS Diesel, Kennedy Diesel, and Heath Diesel

But those aren't mandrel bent and are slightly restrictive in the trun radiuses

Yeah and in my case the OEM cross over was faulty from the get go the inner pipe collapsed pinching off the exhaust, IIRC flowmaster is 30$ (mandrel bent)

Check out this thread!!

I bought a warpspeed from that famous on line auction site but later learned that the muffler shop I took the truck to, to have it installed said they make em' from scratch and replace em' all the time. I could've saved some money by just taking the truck to them and having a custom pipe made....

wow, i wish somebody had shown me that thread before i ordered my warpspeed exhaust, I cna't believe how much it is colapsed in that pic. I think i am definatley going to change mine now, but they told me before that some people with lifts had problems installing them, because there wasn't enough room, has anybody had this problem or know more about it.

I put a Flowmaster crossover on my brothers 97 truck and fit perfectly, no hassle, bending etc.

does your muffler shop make them with mandrel bends? Most just use a regular pipe bender and it causes kinks in the bends

Warpspeed should not have the same problem that the OEM pipe did, (mine being pinched was likely not the norm), you may have to have your crossover modified to fit, with stock lift the frt drv shaft goes above the crossover, with a lifted truck (mine is 6inch) the drv shaft goes under the crossover, but it will not go under with out cut/weld modifing, I'll try to get a picture for you.

I don't know if they use mandrel bends? I had them install the warpspeed I bought... The mechanic simply told me they make their own....

I'd bet they are not mandrel bent, but most muffler shops custom build their stuff. In Edmonton (pop 900,000 ish) there are NO shops that I have found that have the equipment to make these bends, and shop that says they can has a selection of bought pre-bent pipe that they cut and weld together. just look at the bends to see if they have ripples in the pipe on the inside of the bends then its nothing special. the pipe may start off with a 3in ID but thru the radius of the bend its down to like 2.5 inch ID

Mandrel bending equipment is expensive. Theres one or two shops in my area but I just buy the pipes and make my own.
