Alright, I plan on ordering EFI Live quite soon. I have done a bit of engine work with other vheicles I own and looked a long time for just some logging software for them. so I am psyched to find a package with such great support.

my question is the following. Buddy of mine sold his dmax (among other things, divorce sucks) and gave me his hypertech programmer. Don't plan on using it until I get more miles on the truck.

I was wondering that when I get the efilive, can I save the hypertech tunes to the laptop. figure that way I don't have to carry around the hypertech and the efi live stuff.

Thats a big 10-4!! Use their tune as a training tool so you can see what they change to get where there at. Then down load tunes from the library here and compare those. I wish I could help more but so far thats as far as I have made it so far...lol. I bought from Guy (Trippin) and he gave a free tune and I have been comparing all.

I think that would be illegal since Hypertech probably has a patent, but it has been done.

Do i need the Flash Scan V1 or V2?
I would like to make my own or learn how to make my own tunes for my LBZ. Can i use it to check DTC/CEL on any vehicle that is supports?
How does it work do you have to load the tune on the handheld unit with a pc then load it to the truck or is the handheld unit just for reading and clearing codes and you hook the PC to the OBDII to load the tune?

Ive done alot of reading and im still kinda lost.

Sorry:help:
:duh:

LBZ and LMM are only compatible with FlashScan V2 - to see supported vehicles by FlashScan V1 and Ve go to http://www.efilive.com/supvehicle.aspx

Yes

You connect your vehicle to Flashscan and Flashscan to your PC. You dowload your tune, save it, make your changes, save your new file and flash it back into your vehicle. FlashScan V2 will be standalone in the next release, meaning you won't need the connection to the PC and the vehicle at the same time.
