Am I doing any harm to my tie-rods by doing 4wd launches at 2000-2100RPM? I was doing them at 1500 but noticed a bigger difference coming out the hole with the increased boost. Thanks, Nick.

talk to superdiesel about some of his sleeves. You arnt doing em any favors but if you havent broken or bent one yet you are fine. Get some sleeves though. Doing that with a 6" lift and mongo tires may trash things though. duno?http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Confused.gif

If you have a stock trans you are probably really pissing it off btw.

Those tie rod sleeves are on my top five list. Was suppose to get'em a while ago but "someone" A.K.A. Wifey had something to say about it.

Anyway thanks for the info. I'll let you know if I bust anything at the track tonight. There's an old CJ there with a 327 that wants my hide. Don't know if I'll be able to take him or not. Nick

They're pretty cheap and good insurance. She probably wouldn't even notice the money being gone. Mine just came in yesterday and are going on this weekend, they are nice.

IIRC I paid under100$(cant remember exactly) shipped and did em myself in 1/2 hour or so. Just tell your wife its alot cheaper than replacing a tie rod after you get it towed home. You'll probably want to get 2 sets, they look so good you'll want to frame one sethttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Geek.gif

Way under $100.00. Hopefully I'll have the same install time. For some reason it seems to take me longer to do just about anything than most of the people around here. Hell, just dragging the jack up out of the basement and yanking the tires off and putting them back on will take me a half hour.

I didnt count the time it took me hunting and cursing my dads mechanic for hiding tools all over the place. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Angry.gif

But with the tools sitting there(an impact helps loads) and doing a rotation(might as well) and hitting stuff with a grease gun and smearing anti siese on stuff you should be able to do it in well under an hour. I did take my truck to an alignment shop to have it checked to make sure i did everything right(should be 30 or so $ to check alignment and maybe 60$ to do it)

Don't want to hijack the post but how much are the Tie-rod sleeves from Superdiesel?

TIA

Rich.

Last I heard they were $75.00. That is a VERY decent price if you ask me. I'm gonna order a set at the beginning of October no matter what. Nick

LMAO, maybe that's where I've been going wrong all these years. I always count all that time. . . I thought everyone else did too. I don't have anyone to blame but myself about tools not being where they're supposed to be. Moving every 2 or 3 years doesn't help in that department either.

To evey one that I quoted $75. They are price that for them. The price has gone up to a lock price of $125 due to Dealers and steel prices (thanks China) that I must endure. Sorry about this but it sure beats a Tow Trucks bill and is a great peice of mind when doing any off roading and such. Please PM me if that is what I quoted you earlier.
