06 duramax, v2, v7.4, c/w firmware update. the problem is i cannot scan, it says connected and i can see all the dtc's but why does the dashboard have lines through all the headings of all the analog gauges? i have no tables or real time monitoring, what the heck am i doing wrong? btw the little green lite in the top right corner turns off so i know it is scanning.

yes, it starts recording frames and the gauges are still all dead. when i stop it asks me to save file, what i am saving is a lot of nothing i would think.

If it has lines through the gauges or charts it means the PID the chart is displaying is not actually being logged.
There is a default LBZ PID selection list included in the software, are you using that?

What Ross said!
Sometimes it's helpful to select the "Data" tab by pressing "F9" while scanning. This is a quick easy way to verify which, if any PID's are being monitored/recorded without having to first configure your dashboard.

and where do i find this pid selection, is it in the scan tool program or do i have to add this to one of the files. i just selected a dashboard and thought it would show real time display. sorry for being unfamilar with this but i could not see this in the pdf help files in scanning.

Open the scan tool, go File> Open> Open PID selection file, then follow this path to locate the available LBZ PID files.
