......For you guys that are running power programmers on your LB7's what is the max safe EGT temp to stay under? I just installed an "X-MONITOR" digital readout post mounted from "BD-POWER" that gives me EGT (Pyrometer) and Boost Pressure. I have a power programmer (INTIMIDATOR) from the same company on order for improving my fuel economy, than the extra power available, so I'd like to know what temperature to stay under..................SWH...

1200 deg sustained is okay but anything much over that should be in short bursts.1300 deg has been seen on a stock motor working hard so there may be more of a safety margin than we know but I like to err on the conservative side.

A simple hard # won't really work. It's a time while spent at max EGT thing. Example Mine hits 1700+ every now and again (1700 being the max My TST box will allow), but their spikes, couple of seconds max. I'm sure these temps would destroy the engine if they were sustained temps. I'm also pretty sure that thermal damage is a cumulative thing, like one cigarette probably wouldn't do any harm, but how many does it take before there is harm?
