Hey again, new topic, looking for opinions. My buddy has a 93 6.5TD stock except for the pump is fresh and it was "turned up" Here's the problem, The truck started to overheat and crap, so we figured the head(s) were bad, so we got a re-man set bolted them on, now it is taking on coolant in #8 cyl. It runs fine if you can get it started, no smoke, no miss etc, but coolant leaks into the cyl. Keep in mind this long block only had about 5000 miles max on it. I'm stumped..

Pull the heads back off and see what's leaking, the new head or the new gasket. or if your brave, try the liquid head gasket sealer.Edited by: quantum mechanic

Well, we built another short block for the truck, thinking that the block is broken. When I pulled the heads off of it, one head bolt was rusty, but didnt think anything about it until it started leaking the af. lol, already tried the block sealer.. hehe

Did you re-use the headbolts? You can not re-use headbolts on a 6.5TD. They are torque to fit and stretch. One time use only.

unless you head stud it, and that can leak too (from personal experience!)
