If there was a transmission fluid that was superior to transynd, lowers temps an average of 10 degrees, was fully licensed as to not void warranties and about half the cost. Would you buy it?Edited by: salesrep

I would, but I dont want my truck to be a test rat. Would want to see this in a few vehicles before I tried it.

dojo, fluid is very good quality, i put it in many units after upgrades etc. replaces all major atf's, including Mercon and +4.

The roadblock I run into some times with it is that its not a full synthetic, rather a blend. Lot of guys like the full synthetic like the Mobil 1 and TransyndEdited by: dmaxalliTech

damx tech you assume I am talking about Schaeffer's 204s-at which I am. Our syn-blend has awesome test results vs. the competitors. A case can be made that a quality base dino stock and pao syn is better than straight syn.

dojohnso, Far from a test rat we have been developing oils for 165 years. Check out www.schaefferoil.com (http://www.schaefferoil.com) product#204 or www.brianstruckstop.com (http://www.brianstruckstop.com). He offers a two year warranty with this product. Exceeds Allison c-4, dexron h and mercon V.Edited by: salesrep

It's tough getting things into Canada. My Transgo book is a good example.

There should be no trouble. Just make sure you declare the contents and mark it under $20. Anything over $20 you have to pay duty. Anything with out a declared contents will get rejected. It will take a week and half to two weeks through regular mail but it should go through no problem.

I got my transgo book from mike with no hiccups.

*** On edit, oil might be a different story. Not sure how the hazardous materials comes into play.Edited by: Max Power

OK, so Im the dumba$$ here....I thought it was something that wasn't developed yet. I only have 2,700 miles on my new truck, so, yeah, when the time comes, I think I'd like to pony up to the bar for a couple shots of your juice! Maybe I'll pay a visit to Mike L's shop and have him do the deed!

FYI: Mike L., I'm going to want to talk to you about SC3 or ? to price out a tranny upgrade. I'll PM you in the next day or so to talk. Im in Aliso Viejo, CA. (havent torn my Alli up or anything. Just thinking ahead to where I want this truck to be when it grows up.)

salesrep,

Eric recently recomended and installed Schaeffers in my differentials. I dont doubt Schaeffers makes good products.

Alli heat jumps up when you add juice/upgrade Alli to your Max [or at least mine did]. Good synthetics are generally going to hold up to higher Alli temps better than a blend. Just changed my fluid from Transynd to Mobil 1. If I believed there was something better I would certainly use it.

So grmax you didn't use the 204s? What makes you say just cause it says synthetic vs. it is better?Edited by: salesrep

Nope, though Eric and I discussed it. As it was he might have talked me into there 15/40 for the motor but I still had a case of amsoil and I am happy with it for 9 months out of the year. Decided on Mobil 1 for tranny though I am not really certain what the best tranny fluid is....only time will tell.

I have been involved in the industrial gearbox and reducer business for a long time. Industrial bearings, electric motors, etc. Heat and water [food processing industry] are tough on lubricants. Synthetics are capable of outperforming blends and traditional oil. My 2 cents worth anyway.

gr writes"Synthetics are capable of outperforming blends and traditional oil. " Correct. But a good dyno can outperform a poor synthetic. I think it is way to broad . what is the base pao? ester? additve pkg? blending process?etc. etc. I beleive Castrol has called some of it's paraffin hydrotreated oil "synthisized" therefore synthetic. There is a lot of gray area. Edited by: salesrep

If the oil were available in an auto supply store, I could smuggle across. Mail order might be tougher. It took quite a long time to get my Allison book into Canada. Just paper and no place to hide anything.
