......For you guys that are running power programmers what is the max safe EGT temp to stay under? I just installed an "X-MONITOR" digital readout post mounted from "BD-POWER" that gives me EGT (Pyrometer) and Boost Pressure. I have a power programmer (INTIMIDATOR) from the same company on order for improving my fuel economy, than the extra power available, so I'd like to know what temperature to stay under..................SWH...

Hey Steve. I have read that about 1250 is the max for sustained temp. Some have said 1350, but I do believe 1250 is the majority.
You could post this in the Performance Thread and see what kind of answers you get.

I don't think its how high you get, its how long you stay there. I have seen 1800 plus at the end of the 1/4 mile.
I hope to get my gauges installed in the next week. My truck is totally stock and I wanted to know what the highest sustained number I would see in this configuration before I add any steroids. I'll post the numbers when I see what they are.

I read somewhere on this board of a stock LLY holding 1400. FWIW. I think I'd be comfortable with 1350 for at least a few minutes up a grade. Obviously lower is better. I plan on running stock after I get gauges before I add any power, and after I add power, I'll just do my best not to exceed the max readings I get stock.

Maybe the air down there.
Lack of alcohol injection, or maybe excessive rail presure on the alcohol injection...
Well I got my gauges in - it actually runs a little hotter than I thought a stocker would. My truck is about 9000 lbs and the highest I can get my pyro to go is 1200°F. Max boost I've seen is close to 21 psi. This truck is totally stock.
