New engine, same shroud of parts. After the changeover, my oil switch drifted to the far right, now I have excessive smoke. Pump, ops, or a bad connection?

Hey Kruzer welcome to the site; update your signature so we know more about what truck we are dealing with.

OPS shifted right ??? okay you got me on that one, can you cruise by the picture area of FAQ sticky's at top of forum to see if you can find a pic of what you think has shifted right, or post a pic of what you suspect has moved.

Excessive smoke??? white or black, start up only-always-or only on acceleration

hey Turbine doc...
93 tdl chevrolet w/four wheel drive, new engine.
Smoke, more at the startup, and at idles, coasts, but once the turbo kicks it clears with all but some blue-ish.
spitting oil out the pipe into a puddle.
missing sound, hollow echo. the ops gauge has spun clear to the right...like a speedometer buried.
This wasn't happening before, with the old motor...all i did was swap long blocks...(all I did was...?)

Sounds to me like you have the wrong OPS installed.

Okay makes a little more sense now your pressure reading is maxed out on the dash that correct ??? In that case I suspect as Wade indicates incorrect sensor or a bad one, but you can also put on a mechanical gage to corroborate what sender is telling you.

Next item, oil out the pipe ??? what pipe, and what kind of oil is puddling ???
I'm not trying to be a PITA but more info you can provide the better, we need you to be the eyes & ears.

New engine as in new new, or new rebuilt, who rebuilt it, blue smoke is indicative of ring problem, do you have a compression tester, if not see where you can buy or borrow one.

White/grey smoke on start is overfueling or glow issue, black smoke on acceleration is no boost from turbo.
