Hey guys, im leaving on deployment monday and my trucks gonna be setting for about 3 months. Does anyone know if fuel stabilizers like Stabile (i think thats what its called) can be added to diesel or is this not a problem like it is for gassers? Curious cause as soon as i get back i have to jump in her and drive from CA to WVA and i dont want any surprises. Truck will be in San diego and it never will be below 50 degrees. Oh and i run a qt of 2 cycle per tank, i havent had anything happen from running it but should i run that tank dry and just put diesel in? Thanks guys

Don't use Stabil, that is for gasoline engines only. I don't think it'd hurt anything, but I think I'd try to get as much of the 2-cycle mix run down as you can, then add a little antimicrobial additive (I think Bio-Bloc is Racor's stuff-but I might be wrong), then fill it up clear full, run it a bit to get the antimicrobial additive through the fuel system and call it good enough. That additive should be available at any boating shop.

For only 3 months I don't think you have anything to worry about.

i may just run this tank dry and get the 2 cycle oil out of it, and just fill it up with straight diesel like habanero said and call it good. I have been running it with the oil for about 6K now and it really seems to help but i have never been around a 2 stroke that sat for long periods of time. Didnt want it to get nasty and plug something up. Your probably right too dozerboy, i could leave it for my wife to drive but i will have alot more to worry about than plugging a fuel line LOL. Thanks guys

If you're worried about plugging and viscosity, kerosene really cleans things out well. I'd never run more than 30/70 kero/diesel, in a dmax, though.
