Hey Y'all.. It's been a while since I've posted. Just haven't had the time. I need some help please. I changed my fuel filter for the second time this past weekend and cleaned my air filter (AFE). Since the change there is a veryt strong smell of diesel. I've checked the filter and it's fine.. Not a drop around the top or the bottom. I need to get underneath the truck and see if I can find anything. Just wondering if anyone has had the same problem..? I've changed it once before and it was just fine.. any help would be appreciated.

Don't remember the name of the thread but I thought someone had this problem before. Maybe do a search on 'smells'.

If you spill some diesel, it will stink for a few days.

I've found it. Left early last night and got up in there.. - I'm leaking the good stuff from somewhere above the bell housing. I'm guessing a fuel line as it only leaks when running..!! great! add to that a realy friggin annoying buzz from the passanger side foot well, a wet rear end (suspect rear shock), my rear doors no longer locking from the remote and my steering clunking and whining when I turn her sat still and I'm taking her in today. - Thanks all. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Ermm.gif

Unless you have a lift pump installed, the leak can't be from the fuel line, it runs under vacuum while running. I would take a stab at a leaking common rail or injector line.

Someone else had a leak like that. Fuel was collecting at the back of the intake manifold (I think)

Back of the manifold would be the spot and then it's running down. I get to take it in this afternoon. I wonder if I should have them do Clearence lamps at the same time :)
