Now that the weather is getting reasonable - when can we northeasterners expect to experience the summer version of ULSD fuel? :D

Should be as soon as what in in the ground is gone... Additives are generally mixed in the delivery truck before it is filled. Much like we are supose to do with what we put in the tank...

Supposed to be Oct-Apr is winter blend....

However, I'm not sure they're even using a "winter blend" anymore with this new ULSD.

I hope they are because 12 mpg is getting old.

Exactly!! I'm hoping to get that spring MPG bump this year but I guess it may never happen. I'll go another month or so and then do another milage run to see if things get any better.

Depending on who you talk to, and how big of a volume of fuel the station uses (ie get a shipment daily or 10 days) , the supplier usually looks about 10 days out and blends fuel according ly (what I was told from kelly williomson, a fuel supplier) so depends on local or regional forecast. I know they jumped gas and diesel a dime here yesterday in N IL and its not even summer driving season yet (gas 2.69. Diesel 3.01)

I must be getting summer blend. Last 2 tanks were 17.5 & 18 mpg and that's 1 to 2 better than winter fuel. At $2.749 in Plano this AM 3/29.

Or, Mike, your truck gets much better mileage than ours does.

I really don't understand the big difference in mpg numbers from truck to truck. I drive about 700 miles per week with a totally stock truck at 60-65 50%, 65-70 40% and 10% around town. I've got a fairly light foot but I ain't dead yet! I still get on it pretty good at least once evey 50 miles to keep it clean. I have consistantly gotten 15.5 to 16.5 mpg winter and 17.5 to 18.5 summer on both this truck and my LLY. I hand calculate evey tank with a 7% correction for 285s. Of course all bets are off when I'm towing but that's never a full tank since it's usually only 100 miles or so. Where the big difference is I don't know...

Last tank I got all most 18 mpg in city driving.
I figured they switched to summer blend all ready.

In MN, we get the summer blend in the first week of May or its the last week in April. It sucks we have to wait that long!

I think the diffrences have more to do with driving style and conditions than with diffrences in the trucks. I have a buddy that has the exact same truck I do and he complains about his mileage all the time. I have driven his truck and I get the same mileage in his I get in mine.
