Okay I have read quite a few threads about tranny limps.....I understand what happens and that it will most likely happen more often afterwards...I just limped my tranny yesterday with Edge on #3 and I read that you need to cycle the key on and off to get rid of the "Service Engine" light off. I guess my question is about how many times do I need to do this? I mean I did it about 7 times isn't that enough?

I know that this is going to stir up a hornets nest but I think that the following statement from the Allison web site about the Dmax/Allison combo says it all. I've highlighted and underlined the key points.
AFTERMARKET ENGINE PERFORMANCE ENHANCEMENT KITS
Some aftermarket engine performance enhancement kits promise a way to increase the horsepower and torque level of your truck. You should be aware that these kits may have detrimental effects on the performance and life of the powertrain. The Allison Automatic transmission and Duramax Diesel engine have been designed and built to offer industry-leading durability and performance in the most demanding of applications. The transmission’s advanced control system is in continuous communication with the engine to provide the optimum performance. Engine power enhancement kits may allow the engine to produce more torque and power than is being reported to the transmission. This can result in improper clutch control, leading to poor shift quality and possible damage to the transmission clutches. Your power train may experience premature failure. If caused by this modification, such failures may not be covered under your vehicle warranty.
