I want to make my 99 Cummins auto shift better and harder, My dad had a transgo shift kit put in his truck and it shifts great. A tranny tech I work with said he thinks I should get the Sonnax Manual Valve and Pressure regulator valve instead of the shift kit. They are P/N

22771-09 (http://www.transmissionspecialty.com/parts/parts/22771-09.htm) on sonnax.com

I just wonder if it will work like a shift kit making it shift harder and better by replaceing the 2 factory valves with the Sonnax valves. Has anyone ever had experience with these? If so please post results, ot tell me what you think by reading about them.

I don't have a Dodge, but trans builders I've talked to tell me the Sonnax hardware is top quality. I'm planning to use some of their hardware in my trans.

The sonnax stuff is good quality, and both valves are a good addition to your trans. However the trans go kit shows you how to firm up the shifts, and raise pressures,if you dont know how to do this, you will be stuck with stock shifts. Also the trans go kit included a new manual valve that flows oil in park, although im not to fond of the trans go valve since it is made of steel ,and can easily destroy the aluminum VB if installed incorrectly or forced in place. I preffer the aluminum valves, like the ones DTT uses.Im pretty sure the sonnax valve is aluminum too.
