: do I have an injector going out?

First off I should let you know that I recently installed a MBRP 4" turbo back on my truck about a week and a half ago. I don't think it has anything to do with the problem I'm having with my truck but who knows, it could I guess.

So yesterday while stopped at a stop light the truck started to "diesel" pretty bad and there was a cloud of blue smoke coming out of the exhaust. It runs fine when I'm going down the road but idling in drive or reverse will cause this to happen. It's not consistent though, today I got stuck in traffic for an hour and it didn't do this once the entire time. Earlier this morning it did it though. If I let the truck idle in neutral it doesn't produce the blue cloud of smoke it does still idle a little rougher than it used to though.

Any thoughts?

The only things I've done to it recently are put on the exhaust, change the fuel and air filters. They were all done at the same time about a week and a half ago.

Truck has 53k miles on it.

Is there possibly some air trapped in the new fuel filter. try bleeding it again.

My truck surged a bit when I had the edge on. There was no ryhme or reason to when it did it. But it would do exactly what your saying. Idle rough while in drive at lights and pump out a bit of blue smoke. Nothing to call home about but I was worried about it.

Not exactly sure what causes it and I never found a solution for it. For the last 2 months I had my edge on it never did it. I might toss it on for a trip to california coming up here for better mileage. We'll see how it runs.

The thing is I've had my bullydog on the truck for over 40,000 miles and it's never done this before. I can't imagine why it would be doing it now all of a sudden. Maybe I should take it off and reload it.

I'll try that fuel filter bleed too.

Check your #2 and #7 injector connectors, also check for the wire loom chafing on the bracket just above the FICM. Your description sounds very similar to those issues.

I had a similar issue a couple years ago when I had less than 10K on the truck. I brought it to the dealer and found that one of the injectors (I thought it was #8) needed to be replaced. Since they didn't have an injector in stock, they reset the computer. I never had the problem again so I didn't go back for the new injector.
