this only happen in 4th gear......above 50% throttle the "actual rail pressure" will drop to 3900psi from 23,000psi i let off and get back in it and the rail pressure climbs to 23,000 quickly.......

i am thinking fuel filter?? i have less than 4,000 on the filter

That's what it sounds like. One sure way to find out without a potentially unnecessary filter change:

more info on the problem...after sitting a bit withteh engine off it will take a decent amount of time to build rail pressure to start the engine.

well i changed the filter....problem still exists.......i check fuel lines and trippin's pick up i put in had a couple of loose fittings...tightened them..

it still is hard to start after sitting for a while.....

talked to mcrat... said i might have gotten a bad tank of fuel.... dont think so the last to sample had less the 1/2 tsb of sediment/water the filter holds 1 pint roughly....

merchant.... thinks my cp3 might be going out
