: Moving to Seattle, which chevy dealer to go to?
Crayz 09-13-2004, 04:10 PM I am moving to Seattle this week and was looking for a good Chevy dealer to work with should I have any truck problems. I guess I am pretty lucky for having the dealer I have now (really understanding of aftermarket stuff, and doesn't care about it for the most part) and am hoping to find the same there. Thanks,
Chad
se7enracing 09-13-2004, 04:18 PM Where in Seattle are you moving? Jet Chevrolet in Federal Way is pretty relaxed when it comes to aftermarket items.. They even sell lifted Chevs.. Just depends on what part of Seattle you are moving to. Federal Way is about 20-30 minutes South of Downtown Seattle - unless it is in traffic, then your talking over an hour or more..
Welcome to traffic hell...http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Angry.gifEdited by: se7enracing
Crayz 09-13-2004, 04:21 PM I am moving to Renton, going to school in downtown, and working in Auburn, so I am going to be getting around!
se7enracing 09-13-2004, 04:22 PM Federal way is only about 10 mins from Auburn, just up Highway 18 (at the top(end) of highway 18 - go left at the light - Jet is down about a mile on your left). They should take care of you...
Crayz 09-13-2004, 04:24 PM Sweet, thanks!http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Clap.gif
wsucowboy 09-13-2004, 04:24 PM Jet Chevy all the way! they sell our lifted trucks! (Olympic Off-road). They are really good about aftermarket stuff!
CB_Rocket 09-13-2004, 05:47 PM i agree Jet is the place to go, i know the Johnsons (owners) they're great people. you wont have any problems.
smshiver 09-14-2004, 01:47 AM I've also heard good things about Jet. Another option is Bret Chev. in Kent (5 miles south of Renton). Changed owner about a year ago, though. I have also had good luck with Auburn Chev. (8 miles south). My truck goes to Valley GMC in Auburn. They treat me right. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif
PM me with your phone number and we can get together after you arrive. I've installed the third running light and done the headlight mod if you need some assistance.
se7enracing 09-14-2004, 12:13 PM I have heard that Bret in Kent is a little "picky" on aftermarket mods like lifts, really oversized wheels, etc... Have you had 1st hand experience with them? I have been leary of going there myself due to my large wheel/tire combo.. I have heard they are sticklers and going BY THE BOOK. I am interested if the new owners are better as they are about 5 minutes from my office and would make my service life a ton easier...http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Approve.gif
SS396 09-14-2004, 03:13 PM You may also try Sunset Chev in Sumner (just a little south of Auburn). Word has it they have no problem with the Edge w/Attitude.
I haven't had the need to take my Duramax back to the dealer for any kind of work, so I don't know from any first hand knowledge.
If you want to buy a truck, Art Gamblin in Enumclaw is tops, not too far from Renton or Auburn. Not sure about their service policies but their service department is good.
I have taken other cars to Jet for work, was treated well.Edited by: SS396
Crayz 09-14-2004, 06:29 PM Sounds good, as soon as I get to town and get my new number I will let you guys know!
motovet 09-15-2004, 01:43 AM Pat, you still going to make the gathering in Portland? Welcome to the NW Chad. Traffic hell is right!
SS396 09-15-2004, 03:19 PM Darrell, now I am not sure. I won't know until a few days before.
I haven't made a reservation yet, because of the uncertainity. If I am not too late, I probably will make a reservation and just cancel if need be.
Welcome Chad, let us know when you arrive. The commute is only bad if you travel to Seattle. Renton to Auburn is a piece of cake, you will be traveling "the other way" against the traffic, if you start work in the AM.Edited by: SS396
motovet 09-15-2004, 06:38 PM I talked to the campground yesterday and they still have spaces left for that weekend. They may not be together at this point, but still mention the Diesel Place and I'm sure she will do her best. I made my reservation and hope to see a few show up. Patrick says he is planning on showing to give us any technical info we might want. I lived 22 of my 40 years on the Eastside and I still can't believe how much different the traffic is out there. Redmond used to have one stoplight and I used to ride motorcycles on the now Microsoft property. Now here in the sticks I am one block from the cannery I manage.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Approve.gif

I have not had any service done since Hazelett sold out to Bret. They have had a complete change in the service side, too. Like their parts guys, though.
OmyLLwhy 09-16-2004, 11:08 AM I'm gonna try Good Chevrolet in Renton today for a LOF (I got a free one) unless someone starts screamin "Stay Away"
Crayz 10-01-2004, 12:57 AM I'm here and things are good so far! Traffic is nothing since I go against it both ways! I've been in the dark a little while, no TV or net since I left. Hell, I just found out today the St. Helens is making noise! Thanks for the great info you guys, hopefully I won't have any problems and don't have to worry about where I take it.
Chad
SS396 10-01-2004, 03:00 PM Welcome Chad. I will be on the lookout for your rig, shouldn't be hard to miss http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/hihi.gif. Do you have any pictures? Sounds like a cool ride.
If you see a stock Chev 2003, Pewter, flashing his lights at you, that would be me.
Crayz 10-01-2004, 09:37 PM Yeah, it shouldn't be hard to miss if I get the thing cleaned up! Thats my weekend mission. It's usually easy to pick me out from behind considering not many have an exhaust tip like mine! I will be on the lookout for you SS!
