Hi Folks
This post will probably get re-located (I can't find the exact place to ask this question) but what have have you folks found to be the best shop manuals for this truck? A couple of weeks ago someone said the Helms books were not worth the money. Anyway, what do you recommend?
Thanx

Well, Helm supplies GM (the dealers that still keep paper copies, anyway), and I have had no problem with them. The factory-level manuals do not have as many pictures and bolt-by-bolt instructions, but they are written to cater to technicians, not the folks who just change their oil on the weekends.

Helms, you get what you pay for. Just make sure you have enough shelf space!. Total set is 5 or 6 volumes, and takes up over a foot of shelf space.

Helms all the way! Covers every thing you will want to know and some you don't.

Make sure you have heavy duty shelving too because the set of Helm's manuals weighs in at 23 pounds! (5 volumes for my '03).

Factory manuals are the ONLY manuals worth having. For GM that's Helms.

However the manuals also come on CD's. Check Ebay.

The CD's can be a PIA but they'll take up less space, cover multiple models and they're usually cheap.

Did you put your name on the notify list when they come back into stock? that's what i had to do for my '96 Caprice. they sent me an email, but beingthe anal guy I am I kept checking and ordered them before I got the email. You can also call and see if they know when they might be available again.
