Alright, Need some advise. Been on level 3 for over a month now and after having it go into "limp mode" the second day, went straight to level 3 out of the box, I haven't had any problems. Since then I went back to level 1 for a week, then 2 for another week, and now on 3 again with no problems. Tranny is set to defuel only going to 5th.

Question is: Who's runn'n level 4 with success on a stock tranny with LLY motor. I'm not too hard on the truck but every once in a while I like to emberass the ricer next to me. Most of the time the truck's up on the interstate just cruis'n.

Experience and opinions please.

P.S. I've got an MBRP exhaust, no cat, and unplugged EGR if that makes any difference.

Thanks

I ran mine alot on level 4 before i got the Quad tuner . Now i run Quad @ 70 hp and Edge on 2 or 3 for normal driving. Knock on wood but no trans limp as of yet. Im sure it is doing the trans in though especially when the Edge gets bumped up to 5 for racing. But so far for me that has been working just fine.

I run level 4 every once in a while (to smoke ricers as well). Haven't limped it yet.... Plus like Eric said... run it on level 4 and maybe you'll be lucky enough to smoke the allison and have to upgrade! Wouldn't that be fun!?

I've run mine on level 5 quite a few times with no limp yet. I run level 3 day to day.

level 4 low boost 4 defuel 4-5 no probs. doesnt feel any quicker in 5, day to day i was in 3 or 4 defuel all but have since gone to defuel 4-5 and lvl 2 its smoother driving around and when theres rice i bump to 4 or to smoke 'em 5 and havent had a trans problem yet (fingers crossed)

also.. i towed about 4500lbs the other day with defuel 4-5 and level 4 (forgot) and rolled into it and felt the trans grab second and we didnt accelerate backed out immediately, i sense that was blowing through the 2nd gear clutches... but no limp mode so its just a guessEdited by: 95geo

How about longevity. Gotta get the tranny to last at least until late Febuary 05 so tax returns will pay for the lunched tranny.

"Limp" mode is caused when the computer senses the tranny is slipping from to much applied torque/power.It backs the power off to save the transmission.Think of it as trasmission protection mode.

This is oversimplified but you get the gist.
