My taligate seems pretty lose. Whenever i go over bumps it rattles pretty bad, would this be covered under warranty or can i adjust it by myself?

Thanks

Funny thing I was trying to close my tailgate and lock me RollTop cover tonite, and everything was caddy wampus. The right side tailgate stuck out about an inch when closed. My Roll Top was way outa square looking. I checked the tailgate latches, POS PLASTIC SOB's, and they seemed to be working alright.

I finally figured out that I was parked onunlevel ground. I moved to more level ground, and everything lined-up back to normal. These beds must really flex. Also, I don't think I am gonna stand my big@$$self up on the bumper while hanging on to the tailgate anymore. Those plastic closures really look cheesy. And like you noticed, the tailgate moves in and out alot even when locked.

Im pretty sure it is, it has about a 1/2 inch of play in it. Should i take it to the stealer?

Look for anything obvious. Mine needs a little more umph in closing it. Other wise it too does have some play in it.
If nothing obvious appears when inspecting it, you could try the dealer. But they may not have any better thoughts.

Check to see if the tailgate is bent. Pins on bed rails as well. Locking mechanism on tail gate (make sure things are not bent or loose)

Let us know what you find.

txguppy, you wouldn't have that problem if you had bought a Dodge or Ford! http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/HiHi.gif Just thought I would beat any Dodge or Ford boys to the punch on that one! http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Clown.gif

Bowtie Boy: if still under warranty make it GM's headache; if not, its yours! I'm sure one of the guys on DP has seen this before. JJ http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif
