i havent looked in a while, but i remember seeing some taligates on ebay that were all primed and ready to paint .... dont remember exact $$$, but remember thinking it was a good deal....

If you want to replace the tailgate only and you are going to use your hardware then you should be in the $289 ballpark for the tailgate and then whatever it will cost you to get it painted. They do not come painted anymore....Good luck...

Adam, unless you have a requirement for a solid tailgate Camping World has the fifth wheel tailgate that is notched where the pin comes through. It is not a solid tailgate, but a metal piping. You can see it on their website online.

found alot of good prices and lots of parts using www.car-parts.com. i'm picking up a new take off for $250.00 this weekend.

Guy I know got one for free at midnight auto supply.... till the feller he got it from found out..... the hospital bill wasn't worth it, not to mention the bill from the body shop for a new front end

I did the same thing with a gooseneck flatbed trailer last year http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Embarrased.gif. Got one for $250.00 from a local junk yard with all hardware and spray-on liner. Body shop charged me another $100.00 to paint it. I was able to peel the Silvarado and Chervrolet emblems off my old one and put them on the "new" one with a thin coat of silicone.
