When i start my truck up sometimes itll squeak sometimes itll go right away other times itll hang out....Ive noticed that generally if its damp out, or raining or something its much worse....The last few days its been damp/dewy in the mornings after 5" of Frances...and when i start it up it squeaks like no tomorrow...I cant say if when it warms up it goes away, as i havent driven it far enough to do so....Its got to go abck to the dealer whenever the new steering shafts come off backorder....i want to tell them, but im afarid that ill get the "all diesels squeal like due to the high compression especailly at shutdown"which mine also does....funny thing is none of our powerstrokers or the 6.5 at our farm do it....http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Confused.gif

Fanbelt. All three of my trucks (two Dodge Dakotas, one Duramax) did/do it. It seems to be a moisture thing.

This is my experience. Ya could try a lubricant spray on the belt. See if it goes away. When my trucks warmed up a bit, my squeak would go away.
