Okay i'm a rookie here so be gentle with me. my trucks got over 10,000 miles and I think i'm ready to step up the power. exhaust, air, and box or programmer. I just want to sound good but not to loud and I don't want to cause problems that would effect everyday driving.(hard or erratic shifts, overheating, etc.) I tow pretty often and also have to drive in snowy and icy conditions in winter.
so please jump in and tell me what you got, if you like it and any other suggestions.
I see summit racing has a package deal on Bully Dog, what to you think???
I just put an MBRP T-409 exhaust, AFE Stage II air intake and Banks 6 Gun in mine. I have a 2002 LB7. I really like the sound of the MBRP. It is nice and throaty but not too much louder than stock. The AFE has the turbo whining nicely too. Overall I am really happy with the sound. I have only towed one time with my 6 Gun and it seems to really add some pull to my truck. It is also really fun just driving around. Anyway, I know there a lot of opinions about what box is best but I am really happy with the 6 Gun.

Turn the box off or down in bad weather. This is one reason that a box type programer is nice, most are adjustable on the fly. Love my Edge Juice/Attitude box on my lb7. Lotsa nifty features and the attitude acts as gauges. IMO I would get some exhaust(what you pick depends on what you want for sound) and skip the intake.
Check out one of the suporting vendors here.

My preferences are the Edge/Attitude, Banks Exhaust and AFE stage II with proguard 7 filter. JK also makes a nice echaust. I have not heard the MBRP but a lot of folks are buying this exhaust lately. ATS also makes a dual exhaust but I think the dual exhaust looks better on the dually and not so good on the single rear wheels trucks. The Banks exhaust is a little more thoaty than the JK exhaust. There has been alot of research here lately about air filters and the research shows that the Delco air filter performs the best overall. So if you want more turbo whine go with the AFE Stage II but if you want overall performance stay with the stock airfilter and do the whis cheese on the air box. The turbo whine on the AFE is barely barely more noticible. It is nothing like a 6.0 with aftermarket exhaust, with that truck the trubo whine is almost too loud. Hope this helps.
