Is your truck an '01??.........have had a few chips on my brand new '07 not as a result of rocks, on bottom edge of tailgate and side edge of hood. Another poster advised of water based paint now being used as a result of EPA regulations which may be leading to paint durability problems on new trucks. Not sure about your older truck though.

yes, it is an 01, and the tires are 285/75/16, nothing too crazy. reason i was asking is cause i have seen it on other trucks as well as other brands, like my cousin's f350 CC, and he lives in ohio

My 02 white/cc has it in the exact same spots, it's hard to fix because of the black window trim. I've touched it up a few times.

Had truck 1 week now, only put 140 miles so far and the paint is chipping above drive door handle because of dirt under paint. Took back to dealer, there going to repaint door.

Other than that the trucks been great.

My '03 EC is doing it around the windows as well. I bought it used 2 years ago and before I took it home the dealer had the same spots touched up so I think it's definately a common problem.
