Here is my setup,
I used 1/2" fuel line, installed at the top of the tank and behind the fuel cooler locations. Chose to mount my filters close to the torsion bar support for 2 reasons: not restricting airflow to the fuel cooler and too act as a rock guard. I used Fleetguard filter heads mounted to an custom built aluminum, rubber mounted bracket The Fleetguard filter, FS 1242, is a 25 micron, 90 g.p.h. The Cat filter is a 1R-0750. I wanted a water separator before the Cat filter, because I found water in the stock filter even after using Primrose since the last change and final ending up the Fleetguard. It’s longer than I wanted, but at the next change it will be replaced with a 2” shorter version sharing the same specs. I don’t have a lift pump, and for the first week have had zero problems what so ever. After the first tank with the filters installed I got 19.2 m.p.g. calculated by hand. Which was all city stop and go driving and using Primrose. All this for around $111.00http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Clap.gif,Here are some pics, what do you think?

Looks like a god way to filter, but I wouldnt trust the plastic part on the bottom of the fleetguard filter.

Road debris, off roading, etc might cause big trouble.

At the next filter change it will be 2" higher and almost impossible to get hit by anything because of the torsion bar cross member. That the beauty of plastic, its hard to break, for example our headlights.

Cajun86,

Are you worried at all about damage to your setup by road debris, rocks, and the like? Looks like that bracket could survive a nuclear blast.

Dennis

On edit: Never mind, I just reread your other post, but still seems like you still might have an issue if you ever get it off road. . .

I like it...two questions .....you removed the flexible fuel line from the top of the tank to the solid line and plumbed in your filters there?? you did not cut your solid fuel line correct. the second question was your bracket is made of two pieces of aluminum? welded where they connected - it looks like the piece bolted to the frame bends over the top where it is welded to the cross piece (also a 90) that supports the filters.....thanks bill

I saw this from someone else a while back, can't remember who posted it, but it looks similar to the one posted above. I think these are filters and lift pumps.

This is the filter water seperator (5 micron) that I run and works great, filters come in 2 to 25 micron. Good unit for ever day driving but I would use a different pump If I were looking for performance.

Bill, Yes on question #1, no cutting. Question #2 You are correct, I started with a 10" X 3" angle, and after some cutting, filing, grinding, & welding came up with my support. I should have took some pictures before I mounted the brace but forgot.
