OK, I now have a reliability concern...At 96K miles I had to replace my first part....My windshield wiper blades finally gave up the ghost....http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Cry.gif I cannot believe they do not last forever. Are windshield wiper blades covered under warranty???. I am afraid to take it to the dealer and have to argue about it.....I am totally surprised that my wiper blades failed before my first set of brakes....

Just thought I would throw a bit of humor on the page...

If they do not wipe the window in three passes you may be able to apply for the Lemon Law. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/HiHi.gif

I wonder if there is enough of a problem to sue GM for such shoddy workmanship and engineering. How many other people have to replace their wiper blades? If we get enough people, I'm sure an attorney would take on this case and we will finally get what we deserve!http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/HiHi.gif

I think I heard that they extended the wiper warranty to 200,000 miles (320,000km) http://dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/HiHi.gif

Lookit him- no injectors yet. Or maybe it's all the diesel fuel spraying from under the hood and out the exhaust that ate the wiper blades...

You know if you take a piece of electrical tape put it over the blade it like getting a whole new wiper blade. Think of it as a wiper retread only better.

Be nice if you could do that with tires too...http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Clown.gif

Well I replaced on 1 wiper blade. I refuse to replace the other. Sadly I noticed the wiper blade failure after GM was closed on Friday. I am making an immediate appointment with the service manager and see if they are covered. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/HiHi.gif

I did use Turfmower's idea for the good blade.....I put black electrical tape around it and it slides across the window now with ease. I coated the windshield with some teflon product so the blades might last.

My wife thinks this could be a sign......

JONB, As for the injectors issue, I solved that along time ago. I just took them out, plugged up the holes with some corks and it is plummed straight in now. I pulse the fuel at a Y Block.....HAHAHAHAHAHAHA > The key is to keep the RPM's at 2500 all the time.....

I had the same problem. I accidentally hooked up a Juice box to my wiper motor. I turned it up to level 5 and the wipers caught fire from the friction, 26 wipes per second. I unhooked the box and brought it back to GM. They replaced the wipers but I still can't get all the melted rubber off the windshield.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif

This is a real groaner........
I was driving my truck down a lonely country road near Tahoe one cold
winter day when it began to sleet pretty heavily. My windows were
getting icy and my wiper blades were badly worn and quickly fell
apart under the strain.

Unable to drive any further because of the ice building up on my front
window I suddenly had a great idea. I stopped and began to
overturn large rocks until I located two very lethargic hibernating
rattle snakes. I grabbed them up, straightened them out flat and
installed them on my blades and they worked just fine.

What! You've never heard of . . . wind chilled vipers? http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Ermm.gif

Sprintmod1,

I like your idea.......Let the other guy worry about the warranty issue...There is a 03 2500HD just down the street...It is a Gasser...Diesel trucks should have priority......http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/HiHi.gif

I had someone do that to me, one night I was about an hour from home. Freezing rain. Start the truck, set defrost to high, grab ice scraper, lift wiper arm up. Look and says to myself "whats wrong with this picture"
Someone took both wipers off my Dakota.
9:30 pm in a bad area. NOTHING open. Cost me 4 large coffees from a police garage to get another used set.

BASTARD.

If you don't want it done to you, don't do it to someone else.

Max Owner,

I sure hope you realize this thread is for some humor, I would never steal anything from anybody, I am 44 years old and If my Dad found out he would whip my a$$ and make me take them back and apologize. I would then be grounded and stuck doing work around the farm while my friends were out playing....http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Disapprove.gif. Hard to explain to wife and children why I am grounded and cannot come home....http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/HiHi.gif

Max Owner,

No Problemo....Just thought with all the posts about warranty this and TSB that I would throw some humor up here on the board. I think we need more humor nowadays.

I did look at the TSB notices and nothing on failing wiper blades...Darn! Hey speaking of TSB's how long is it going to take to get the recall completed for the bad tailgate straps. I am just waiting for my tailgate to fall....http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif. I had 400lbs of cement sitting on it the other day....Then remembered the recall. I will just add it to the wiper blade failures
