I have learned to shift my NVG4500 into any gear, up shift or down without the clutch. It seems to be a matter of matching the gear with the engine/vehicle speed.

To shift into L or R, It drops into gear by pushing gently toward the gear I'm selecting and It grabs it and you go.

To shift into 2,3 0r OD you wait till you normally do a gentle shift and with a little pull it will come out at the shift point and right back into the next gear w/o a glitch.

to down shift, I rev the engine to the rpm it would be in for that vehicle speed.ie for 4 to 3 at 50 mph I would rev it to 2500+ in between gears and drop it right into 3rd at the rpm peak.

I was wondering if anyone else had learned how to get around without pushing the clutch pedal.

ive never tried "power" shifting with a pickup, but find it pretty easy to do with dump trucks and grain trucks.

You should try to drive our silver eagle band bus with or without a clutch

Yes this has been done for years by the big truck boys. Just one thing to think about. That tranny is really expensive to rebuild, I know cause mine just got done at about $1500.00. SO just a thought!
