I just got back from the f______g stealer. This am I started the truck and the SES came on.

It was time for an oil change and decided to take it to him for both. Ask for the oil chg, and ask if they could read the code and tell me if it was serious.

They did an $80 oil chg, and charged me $40 to tell me it was a P0540. Period. No repair, nothing. Not even a smile when he put down the KY jelly.

The Svs Mgr said they didn't have a "diesel" mechanic on duty so they wouldn't fix it. They didn't even reset the code.

They gave me the printout telling me what it was.

I did a search here on the code and it said to check the 175a fuse (couldn't get to it) and the fuel htr. 15a fuse is fine.

Do I have a problem serious enough to not go on a 6 week cross country trip with my 5th wheeel??

Should I have another dealer check it in Billing, MT when I get there in 3 days???

Sorry to be windy.

ps: the first thing the Svs Mgr says is that it could be because of my Banks Exh Brake. I think this idiot is looking for any reason to deny warranty.

That's a Intake Air heater DTC. This aids in cold starts.Whether or not they have a diesel tech any GM mechanic could have followed the diagnostic procedure.

Sounds like a cop out and they didn't have time to do and being it isn't anything that will be detrimental to operation they sent you packing. They didn't reset code for further diagnostics by someone else.

I would get the hint and run from that dealer.I also believe that should be covered under the 100K warranty minus the Benny deductible.

Thats a point I tried to make to the svs mgr, but he was hung up on the Banks.

I will try a Chev dealer in Billings.

Thanks as usual.
