Thanks Max power....I am knee deep into it now....doing the high idle install and the fog light kit install....running into some problems though.

The fog light wire on d6 already has a wire in it?

Do I take that one out and replace with the wire from the kit or do I just piggy back into the purple wire that are already there?

Well, I guess I would do whatever is neater. Probably remove it. I am not real familiar with the process. Sorry.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Disapprove.gif

You will never need one in Dallas so don't be concerned until you become a "Yank" http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif

I have a winch on my 2001 and I use a block of wood to put on gas peddle to increase rpms up to 1500-2200. I think that the increased rpms help give the winch as many amps as it needs when pulling.

I also use the same block of wood when jump starting my big diesel Freightliner when the batteries die...I think again the higher rpms' help the alternator give juice to the batteries.

I would like a highidle button so I can get rid of the block of wood.

DMAX2134:

The high idle kit allows you to utilize a feature intended for use with a PTO. On mine, I can get two speeds of high idle (I think it's 1250 and 1700 rpm) by using the cruise control. It is used to heat the truck up faster in the winter or keep it warm when you would otherwise be idling and losing heat. It can also be used if you're running 12V accessories that draw a lot of power, or to keep the AC good and cold while sitting in the summer.

It's a simple install and I've used mine quite a bit so far.
