I could just put one work in this thread... nothing.

I made a bunch of calls and there really isn't anything available yet. Some companys are getting trucks in now but we probably won't see upgrades in product for a few months. I'm actually going to have to drive a stock truck for a little while :)

Shhh... don't say that :)

I've purchased alot of first year cars, trucks, jet skis ect.... So far, so good!

I hear EFI Live can be the first out with tuning. Nothing wrong with that! :)

I made some more calls today to get parts for my truck. I think I'm going to go sit in the corner and cry. I like the Vizualogic headrests with built in monitors. They might not have something for the new trucks for at least 6 months. This is the drawback of buying a new model but it makes it kind of fun too.

Id leave the motor stock for a little while, if there are any bugs, you dont want gm trying toblame it on someting else, I dont think there are any performance mods for the 6.4 out yet either, the 6.7 has some

Tom, Just gotta know who to ask!!! What color interior you got on order?

tbyrne
03-26-2007, 01:54 PM
Marc, I went with the black interior also. Are they all two tone inside? I thought everything would be black.

Vizualogic and a few other manufacturers make 9" monitors. The 7s are nice but I got used to the other ones. Yours look good in there!

My dealer e-mailed a little while ago. He should see the truck later today or tomorrow.

03-26-2007, 03:12 PM
Gotcha Tom, I am not that familiar with the Visualogic we have always used Invision for the 3yr/36k warranty. You know how electronics tend to be. The 07 Tahoe kits are identical to the silverados, so if the manufacturer dosent know that they fit yet now you do.

tbyrne
03-26-2007, 03:33 PM
Thanks Marc! I guess the big question is are the headrests for the new Silverado/Sierra the same as the Classic versions? I know they changed the quality of the leather.

Info about them can be seen at - http://www.vizualogic.com/

03-26-2007, 03:37 PM
Sorry Tom, guess I wasnt clear. Order a kit for a 2007 Suburban/Tahoe it will work in your truck.

Hey marcsanz, did you do that install of the rear TV head rests in that photo you posted??
Also, is that the new 07 Silverado or just an SUV setup?

jww2124

Dub there is some in the suspension section, Marc do you plan on doing any 4 or 6 inch kits soon on the new 2500's?

Dub Silverado
03-27-2007, 03:01 PM
I was able to find the pictures of the truck lifted with the cognito kit. Looks bad ass. I would like to see some actual pics of the kit thuogh. on the 7-9 Kit, would it clear 37s easily?

marcsanz
03-27-2007, 03:04 PM
We will be doing a 4/6 kit soon, I have a customers truck on the lifts now for another 9" and a 1500 that has been waiting for a 6" to get done as well. Then I have a 12" for the 2500HD, so it might be a few eeks before we get to the 4-6".
Dubsilverado-7-9 set at 9" barely clears 37's these trucks have much smaller fenderwells that the classics.

Dub Silverado
03-27-2007, 03:15 PM
Weird...I always thought the fender openings looked bigger considering that a lowered 1500 will fit 24s and make them look small.

So the 07.5 2500hd uses the same suspension as the classic trucks?

marcsanz
03-27-2007, 03:26 PM
Correct, same suspension just very different fender/body clearances

Dub Silverado
03-27-2007, 03:30 PM

tbyrne
03-27-2007, 03:32 PM
Marc, You guys don't waste any time out there! Alot of them are being lifted already.

marcsanz
03-27-2007, 04:34 PM
I would reccommend speaking to someone who knows the new trucks before ordering a suspension for a classic and assuming the results will be the same on the GMT900's while the frames are the same, the fitments/wheels tire packages are much different.

Tom, I pride myself on being at the forefront of any industry I choose to dabble in. So I am honored to be the first person making strides towards fiquring out the details of these new vehicles. There is more to come, we are not stopping here. I would be interested in seeing if we couldnt work together on some vette projects sometime soon. I have a personal project I have been embarking on recently that you might be able to help me with.

Marc, those wheels look sweet on that Z06! Let me know if you need something. I've attached a pic of my C6. Looks a little different than the rest through :) I put it together for last year's Hot Rod Poewr Tour.

For some reason I throught you were on the West Coast. FL seems to be pretty relaxed with it's lift laws too.

I will be taking delivery of a new HD. Will be running 22X40 Toyos. Will the truck need 16" of lift or will 12" be enough. The 06 I have now has 15" of lift with the same tires.

Thanks for any info.

a 12" lift will work for 40" tires no problem. thats what i had on my 03 chevy. and 37 will fit on mine right now with a 6" lift and keys. u just have to trim the inside corner of the bumper, but its nothing you can see from a side view, u can only see the triming if your looking in the down from the wheelwell.

Co Duramax
03-29-2007, 08:27 PM
Thanks for the reply. 12" is more attractive as the 15" lift on my 06 is right at the limit in my garage. Only a couple of inches to spare.

Sam

marcsanz

I just dont see a 12" clearing 40's without major trimming. Also keep in mind that no one makes a 40" tall 22" tire that is E rated, so you will always have a tire pressure failure warning until we find a way to recalibrate that portion of the PCM.

Not to disagree with anyone, but I was of the same thought as you. I know 12" is not enough on the 06. But the 07.5 I have no clue. I guess I will have to wait and see what FTS says. They installed a kit this week on a new truck.

The tire warning issue? Is it an audible warning or just a warning light?

One more question. Your rear seat entertainment. Is it possible to interface it with the navigation system. Not through an FM modulator that is.

Thanks much.

Sam

Co Duramax

16" is what it is. Just got off the phone with FTS and they said no problem. They agreed on the 16" over the 12".

What 38.5's are you running. I have the 40 Nitto's on my 06, but have a set of 40 Toyo's for the 07.5. The tire warning will be an issue if it is audible.

Sam

marcsanz

Pro Comp tires. The warning is audible as well as visible. it will not go off constantly, but it will peridocially let you know you are having tire pressure issues.

After speaking to my Dealer about putting Aftermarket wheels and tires on, he said all I would have to do is take the valve stem assembly out of the stock wheels and put them in the aftermarket wheels. And that it would be no problem to recalibrate the computer to read the correct pressure.

not to disagree with anybody but my 03 hd diesel had a cst 6"subframe lift,4" spindale and keys and i fit 40" tires no problem with out cutting. and on my new truck i could fit a 37 easy with a 6" kit and keys. but on a new body i dont know what it will take to fit a 40 but it will look good.

Those GMT900s look excellent with a lift kit! If you want mods, EFI Live has it out, that is why it took them so long to come out with the LBZ stuff.

Sam, yes we can interface into factory nav if equipped. I think I am right on the 40's. As the first person to lift a LMM, first to level an LMM, first to 6" a LMM, first to 9" an LMM and now the first to 12" a LMM I can tell you we are running 38.5's which are more of a 39 by my measurements. Tire warning is both audible as well as visible. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions Sam, I will be glad to help.

For the guys that are looking for the GMT 900 tire fitments and other corks Marc is on it like he says so I say let him lead on and we can learn from what he finds. Marc I must say the best thing about having you playing with these new bodys is your part of the dealers that all of use hate to have shut us down when needing help with corky things like lights and load ranges.
:beerchug: Keep up the great work....Your the man....

Wow, that truck does look awesome. I didn't like the 03 and up look. This one looks more like an updated version of the 01-02. I don't like the slanted lights on those 03's. For some reason, they just don't look as tough. Maybe there is hope. But, this is coming from a guy who "settled" on a Chevy, I wanted a Ford. but it is growing on me. I really like it now.
