I have a similar starting issue on a 2005 dually. It currently has 22,000 on it. It has the Nicktane Cat filter setup since new. Both the big Cat and the stock filters were changed at 15,000. This problem started out of the blue last week after it sat a couple of days. There is 3/8 of a tank in it. I have tried bleeding and it may, or may not start. I have checked and there are no codes. What is weird is yesterday I tried everything I could think of and nothing. Came into the home to read more posting here on the Diesel Place for ideas. Went back out and it fired right up. Its like looking for a ghost! Drove it all day without and issues and now this morning the same thing. Everything looks normal and turns over but it will not fire. Can not find any leaks.

Any ideas?
Roger

Are you running any underhood module or programmer?

Where are you located at?

What kind of temps are you seeing?

I would probably change out filters before I do anything else. It dosent take much to clog up a new filter with this garbage fuel we're running now.

It has had an Edge since new. I leave it on "1" for milage. All temps are normal, once it starts.
I fuel up at a commercial station that moves a lot of fuel. Not much chance of plugging a big Cat filter in 7,000 miles. Since the Cat fiters to 2 microns I dont see any chance of anything in the stock filter after 7,000 miles. Again, once I mess around and get it going, everything is normal while operating all day yesterday. It just would not fire this morning and did not have the time to mess with it this morning since I had to leave for work. I can try any ideas tonight.
Thanks

Went home early to start tearing things apart. I did not do anything to the fuel system and just unplugged the Edge unit. It was the easiest, so I did that first. Tried it and it fired right off. Not sure why but time will tell before I try plugging it back in.
Thanks

Call Edge....Run it stock for a while.

You're not the first to have this problem either.

Probably just caught in a "trap" set up by the GM computer geeks. Heard the geeks and gurus on both sides play a few games with each other and the guy with the vehicle ends up on the wrong end of the stick. Don't know how true this is but sounds like the type of fun these guy would devise.
