I am looking to put 17x8 AR Chrome Victors on my 04 Chev 2500HD. They have 0 offset and 4.5" backspacing. Can someone tell me how much further than stock (16x6.5) will this wheel stick out? Also, will 285/70/17's fit without a lift or doing any triming?

The wheels will stick out 1.5 inch more (8 - 6.5) since the backspacing remains the same. You have to add the tire width difference of your new tire to this. For every inch the wheel is wider the tire grows approx. 10 mm (0.4 inches)

U WILL have to trim.

Even stock BS, the wider wheel sets the tire out and that is what causes the trouble.

Chevy only needs the bottom inner corner trimmed w/ the H2 wheels, I'm not sure what the difference in the BS is.

oK, what is the difference between off-set and back-spacing? http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Confused.gif

Offset of a wheel is the distance from its hub mounting surface to the centerline of the wheel. Zero offset means that the hub mounting surface is even with the centerline of the wheel. Backspacing is the distance between the inside of the wheel and the mounting surface. So if it is an 8 inch wide wheel with 0 offset, the mounting surface would be exactly in the center, with 4 inches to the edge of the wheel on each side. Hope that helps.
