Any opinions on the value of asking the shop tech to cut open and inspect the old filters each time they are replaced and recording the observations in their customer database. It wouldn't solve the underlying problems but when the injectors bite the dust after the warranty runs out there would be at least be documented evidence.

truthfully--fat chance. Most shops could care less what it looks like inside. Your best bet is to ask for the filter back yourself and cut it open, doc with photos or keep it around with a copy of the invoice it was changed on... That would be good record keeping. I doubt the dealer is gonna do much in cutting it open themselves
