2000 Chev 4x4 thats listed in the garage. Engine is out for rebuild, tranny had a mild shift kit put in approx 20K ago. What i'm after now that its out is upgrading the torque converter seeings its such a simple change right now. Anyone have a little input on what to get to support around 400 ponies and a bunch or torque? Hi stall, etc. does the ECM need to be reworked too?

You will need a triple clutch converter to hold the Cummins. Hardened shafts couldn't hurt either. Check with Suncoast Converter and ATS as they are the top names and also vendors here on the DieselPlace.

Sounds good....... cept its the 6.5 truck, not the cummins one. Power output will supercede the stock cummins for sure though.

See the garage.....

Engine is in for another complete overhaul, incl new custom cut pistons, cryo hardened crank, a little here and a little there..........

Wouldn't a lower stall speed be better for a diesel??
