Okay, long story short, my trans ran for a short time with very little fluid in it. The previous owner managed to bend the dipstick bracket the wrong way then silicone it to the trans. Finally got it worked out and got fluid in the sucker, and everything is working right again except 2 things.
First off, reverse is slipping BAD. It's barely moving and it has to be wound up to go anywhere. Also, downshifting into 2nd works fine, but downshifting into first does nothing. It is shifting, but not catching, so no engine braking.
I suppose I can live without 1st downshift working right, but I need reverse!
anyone know what's going on?
