drove my truck all day ...get into town to get smokes..... dic reads out

range shift inhibited .. ???

2003 3500 lt crew duramax/ally .. all stock except for a exhaust ??

i guess i forgot info ..if anyone could help

2003 duramax/allison
313,245 km
all bone stock except open exhaust-factory diameter

wasnt plowing or in 4x4 or nothing....

i was slowing down to a stop and the message came up in the dic

went to my bros house, parked it ..stayed7 hours , went to start it ..no problem..didint see any message ..let it warm up a good 15 mins (-0 weather) .. went to take off the message appeared again ..shifted it to drive,
nothing..no go...??? dropped it to 1lo and shifted it back to drive ..i had a gear :) ..?? drove off normal and slow nad took it easy on the way home (1 hr drive .approx 100 mile ,maybe less .... got home and the message came up again as i put her in park....nothing came up all the way home, truck ran normal as can be with a salter and blade on...shifted ok, no overheat,tranny temp ok ... ????? what gives ..is it the tranny or is it the computer ??

okay gang .. i got the wifey to pick up a new NSBU unit .... from Allison 180 plus tax ... CANADIAN ....:eek:

so what i need to know is ...now what ..before i send my wife under the truck....:rolleyes: .. do i unhook the batteries ... anything ..or is it just plug and play ??

You don't need to unhook the batteries. When I changed mine a while ago I think that I had to put the shifter in Neutral before I replaced the NSBU. In the "Do It Yourself" section there is a full write up on the install with a lot of details.
