My 6.2 locked up in my truck the other day while driving:mad: The motor was used when i bought it about 3 months ago and swapped it into my truck. I was driving through town and was heading out on the highway when it started making noise and my oil pressure went to 0 then it locked up tight and the starter wont even budge it. I am hoping for only a spun main bearing. So just a crank change and back on the road:cool: what do you guys think or has anyone else had this happen.

It had oil right? Otherwise you will probably also need a new oil pump.
Had this happen on a gasser (no oil, something about a big hole in the oil pan). It scored up the crankshaft real bad and locked up. I suspect that you will find similar damage to yours. A bearing and crankshaft replacement might work. But I'm no expert. This is just my $0.02

Pull the pan and have a look. This is the reason I always suggest checking bearings on a used engine. I have seen engines that have been sitting with old oil that the bearings look terrible from the acid. I have also seen engines that have been sitting for a long time that had the oil holes in the crank filled with sludge.:(

The first thing i checked was the oil level and it was full. It has always carried good oil pressure. 15 lbs at idle and always 40+ on the road. I haven't pulled the oil pan to check the damage yet almost afraid to. I probably should've pulled the pan when i put it in the truck but i was in need of my truck at the time pretty bad so just put in the motor and changed the fluids and got it running. Now its probably gonna bite me in the a!!.
