Ok heres my issue. Not a very big one but kinda annoying to me. When I am going down the highway at cruising speed I hear sort of a rattle sound that seems like it is coming from the windshield area... Im not realy sure what it is. My brother has a 2000 1/2 ton chevy and his does it too. j/w if anyone knew what this was and maybe how to fix it. thanks in advance

Do you have a bug deflector or anything aftermarket on the front?

The plastic moldings around the windshield are picking up wind. My dealer used some kind of double stick tape to keep them tight. I think the bug deflector seems to make it much worse.

I have this issue and I don't know what it is. But I don't think that it is the bug deflector, I had that problem on other trucks and that is not what this is. I also had the window molding "fixed" on this truck and it still does it.

I had a similar problem with my 98 and my 03. The plastic moldings on the cowl were loose, catching the wind and rattling. I used 3M double back tape to stick them back down and this resolved the issue on mine.:)

I was told the if you buy the GM hood shield they supply a kit with it to take care of the problem. I have a Lund Stainless. Where exactly are you putting the tape, this is driving my wife nuts.

I have a GM bug deflector for this very reason and I didn't get any kind of kit at all. In fact when this noise started I took it back to the stealer and they tried to tell me that it wasn't a GM bug deflector when it is clearly stamped with the GM logo.

The liner piece in my overhead console compartment has some slop in the fit and I get a little rattling sound sometimes on the highway or other random speeds. Just a thought.
